Adult Education Admission Coordinator

About the role

The Part‑Time Adult Education Admission Coordinator supports recruitment, enrollment, orientation, and instructional success of adult learners in Central Georgia Technical College’s Adult Education programs. This role combines community outreach, student onboarding, and bootcamp instruction to help adults achieve GED/HSE credentials.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit prospective adult education students through community events, presentations, referrals and partnerships with local organizations.
• Conduct student orientation sessions, explain program expectations, assist with enrollment, and provide referrals to support services.
• Teach assigned bootcamp classes using approved curriculum, prepare lesson plans, monitor progress, and maintain accurate instructional records.
• Develop positive relationships with learners, identify barriers to participation, and connect students with resources to promote persistence.
• Represent Adult Education at community and college‑sponsored events and collaborate with faculty to support student success.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and at least three years of related work experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse populations.
• Organizational, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities, and a commitment to confidentiality.
• Experience in recruitment, community partnership building, and knowledge of adult education admission requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Familiarity with student information systems and data entry into TCSG databases.
