Adjunct Spanish Instructor

About the role

Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas is seeking an Adjunct Spanish Instructor to join its Arts and Sciences department on the Helena campus. The position is a fixed‑term appointment focused on delivering high‑quality Spanish language and culture instruction to associate‑degree students.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging, standards‑based lessons in Spanish reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
• Incorporate cultural content to enhance students’ awareness of Hispanic societies.
• Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain course materials and adhere to college policies and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Fluency in both Spanish and English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Latin American studies, or a related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Preferred: Master’s degree and prior college‑level teaching experience.
