Adjunct Instructor - Undergraduate Programs

About the role

Avila University Arizona, through Global University Systems, is seeking dedicated Adjunct Instructors for its Goodyear, Arizona campus. The role is part-time and onsite, and instructors teach campus-based, hybrid and online undergraduate and graduate courses in subjects such as Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Management, Law, English, Communications, Psychology, Social Work and Technology (Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Analytics). Successful candidates are added to an adjunct faculty pool from which teaching assignments for the terms running through May 2027 are distributed.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality online and hybrid instruction using synchronous or asynchronous methods, including in-person delivery.
• Use best practices for online accelerated adult programs and teaching strategies that accommodate diverse student abilities, backgrounds and learning styles.
• Integrate real-world business datasets and industry case studies into the curriculum.
• Mentor students, give actionable feedback and foster a collaborative, reflective learning environment.
• Collaborate with faculty and program directors on curriculum alignment with industry trends, and take part in faculty meetings and professional development.
• Keep records of grades, project evaluations and attendance in the university's learning management system, and support programmatic assessments.

Required profile

• For undergraduate courses: a Master's or Doctorate in the relevant discipline and practical work experience in the topic.
• For graduate courses: an Ed.D. or Ph.D. and practical experience are preferred; a Master's degree and substantive career experience can be accepted.
• Teaching experience with a diverse population is preferred, as is experience engaging students online.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and to supporting a diverse student body, first-generation and multilingual learners, and equity and social justice.
• English reading, writing and communication skills; multilingual skills highly preferred.

Required skills

• Experience with a Learning Management System such as Canvas is preferred.
• Experience in synchronous or asynchronous teaching is highly desirable.
