Adjunct Instructor, Online MS in Speech-Language Pathology

About the role

Abilene Christian University (ACU) is hiring a remote adjunct instructor for its online Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program. The position reports to the Program Director and works within the faculty team supporting online students. ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ, and the position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and willing to support the university's Christian mission.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction, direction and support in the online classroom, covering a range of class sizes up to 30 students.
• Give timely, constructive feedback on student work and answer student questions about course material and academics.
• Monitor student progress against learning outcomes and ASHA skills and standards, and report it to the Program Director.
• Hold at least two office hours per week and be available for one-on-one and group virtual meetings.
• Facilitate and grade assignments within 24-72 hours, enter final grades after consulting lead faculty, and alert faculty to student issues such as performance or policy violations.
• Follow university and program handbooks and faculty guidelines, give feedback to the Program Director, attend faculty meetings and complete required faculty training.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (PhD or EdD) in a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence and active state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of residence.
• Previous online teaching experience in higher education is strongly preferred.
• Willingness to support the Christian mission of the university.
