Adjunct Instructor - English

About the role

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) seeks a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach General Education English courses on its main campus just south of downtown Atlanta. This part‑time position offers a lump‑sum payment per course and provides an opportunity to impact a diverse student body while collaborating with the Arts & Sciences division.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver instruction for General Education English courses following the approved syllabus.
• Design, administer, and grade assessments while maintaining accurate grade books and records.
• Advise and counsel students, keeping thorough advisement documentation.
• Maintain classroom and lab safety in line with institutional guidelines.
• Participate in departmental meetings and uphold college policies and accreditation standards.
• Complete required reports, invoices, and inventory records in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in English or a related field from a regionally accredited institution, with at least 18 graduate hours in English.
• Minimum of one year of teaching or related instructional experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for diverse students.
