Adjunct Instructor – Criminal Justice

About the role
Tidewater Community College is looking for a part‑time Adjunct Instructor to teach Criminal Justice courses. The instructor will deliver instruction in classroom, Zoom, or online formats and support student learning through active engagement and timely feedback.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and teach Criminal Justice courses for which the instructor has specific training or competence.
- Align course activities with defined learning outcomes and employ active‑learning strategies.
- Utilize appropriate technology (e.g., Zoom, online learning platforms) to support instruction.
- Provide thorough, timely feedback on assignments and assessments.
- Maintain regular office hours and engage students outside of class.
- Conduct meaningful assessments, including at least one early‑term assessment.
- Participate in college policies and student surveys of instruction.
Required profile
- Specific training or competence in Criminal Justice.
- Ability to teach students with diverse academic backgrounds.
- Part‑time availability.
- Commitment to college policies and student success.
