Adjunct Instructor, Commercial Truck Driving

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a part‑time Adjunct Instructor to teach the Commercial Truck Driving Licensing program. You will guide students through classroom and practical training, ensuring they meet state certification standards.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise students in commercial truck driving courses.
• Develop program outlines, lesson plans, and course objectives.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain required documentation.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and budget requests for the program.
• Ensure safety and security standards are met in the training area.
• Collaborate with staff and assist in recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.

Required profile

• Current Georgia State Department of Driver Services Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License.
• At least one year of experience as a commercial truck driver.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Associate degree (preferred) and three years of commercial driving experience (preferred).
• Familiarity with FMCSA regulations and USDOT drug‑and‑alcohol compliance policies.

Required skills

• Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
• Computer proficiency.
• Knowledge of FMCSA rules and regulations.
• Understanding of USDOT drug‑and‑alcohol policy.
