Adjunct Instructor, Carpentry & Construction Management

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking an Adjunct Instructor to teach Carpentry and Construction Management courses within the Technical College System of Georgia. This full‑time, day‑shift position involves delivering classroom instruction, developing curriculum, and supporting student success.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct and supervise students in Carpentry/Construction Technology courses.
• Develop program and course outlines, goals, objectives, and lesson plans.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain academic records.
• Request and manage supplies, equipment, and budget needs.
• Ensure safety and security standards are met in training areas.
• Maintain program certification requirements and prepare required documentation.
• Collaborate with students, staff, and educators on instructional programs.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.

Required profile

• Proficiency in carpentry and construction management competencies.
• Appropriate licensure, certifications, or professional credentials.
• Minimum three (3) years of carpentry experience (five (5) years preferred).
• Associate degree in carpentry, construction management, or a related field.
• Teaching experience within the Technical College System of Georgia.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with Blackboard LMS preferred.
