Adjunct Instructor – Biology

About the role

Wilbur Wright College, part of the City Colleges of Chicago, is seeking part‑time adjunct instructors to teach biology courses. The position involves creating an engaging learning environment, designing course materials, and assessing student performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver biology course content, including syllabi with clear learning objectives.
• Foster student curiosity and critical thinking through discipline‑specific problem‑solving strategies.
• Provide timely, objective feedback and record grades promptly.
• Incorporate instructional technologies and stay current with trends in the life sciences.
• Promote inclusivity, respect diversity, and model a supportive classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in a life‑science discipline (e.g., Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Botany, Cell Biology, Bioengineering, etc.).
• Demonstrated success in teaching and ability to engage diverse student populations.
• Commitment to the mission of community‑college education and continuous improvement.
