Adjunct Faculty – Physics

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks qualified professionals to join Gwinnett Technical College as Adjunct Faculty in Physics. This part‑time, non‑benefited position reports to the Dean of Education and offers lump‑sum compensation based on contact hours taught.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lecture and laboratory material in face‑to‑face and hybrid formats.
• Develop course outlines, goals, and objectives.
• Evaluate student progress and maintain required documentation.
• Request and manage instructional supplies and equipment.
• Stay current with developments in physics through professional development.
• Ensure safety and security standards in training areas.
• Collaborate with students, staff, and other educators on instructional programs.
• Perform additional duties supporting the college’s mission.

Required profile

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physics (or related discipline) or a Master’s with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the field.
• Post‑secondary teaching experience is preferred.
• Relevant certificates or training are a plus.
• Ability to prepare lesson plans, assess student performance, and maintain a safe classroom environment.
