Adjunct Faculty - Degree Level Mathematics

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a part‑time Adjunct Faculty member to teach degree‑level mathematics courses at the Lawrenceville campus of Gwinnett Technical College. This non‑benefited, FLSA‑exempt position supports the General Education Division and reports to the Program Director of Mathematics.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lecture and/or lab material for core mathematics courses (approximately 60% of time).
• Develop lesson plans and classroom instruction materials (10%).
• Assess student progress and provide feedback on learning objectives (15%).
• Maintain required documentation, administrative reports, and grading records (10%).
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives (5%).

Required profile

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in mathematics or a closely related discipline, or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline.
• Post‑secondary teaching experience is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively within the college’s organizational structure and follow supervisory direction.

• Strong knowledge of undergraduate mathematics curriculum.
• Effective classroom and laboratory instruction techniques.
• Proficiency in preparing academic documentation and reports.
