Adjunct Faculty – Business & Industry Courses

About the role

Virginia Highlands Community College is seeking qualified professionals to join its School of Business and Industry as part‑time adjunct faculty. You will teach day or evening classes in a variety of business‑related disciplines, helping students acquire the skills they need for successful careers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality instruction for assigned courses, both in‑person and during scheduled class times.
• Prepare lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that align with accrediting standards.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades.
• Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with full‑time faculty.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including emergency assistance if required by state authorities.

Required profile

• Minimum qualifications as defined by the accrediting agency for the specific discipline taught.
• Relevant academic preparation and professional experience in the chosen field (e.g., Accounting, Marketing, Information Technology, etc.).

Required skills

• Subject‑matter expertise in one of the listed Business & Industry disciplines.
