Adjunct - Business & Customer Service Instructor

About the role

This part‑time adjunct position provides instruction in business, customer service, computer basics, job‑search techniques, interview preparation, and re‑entry skills to incarcerated adults at Riverbend Correctional Facility. The role operates under general supervision and follows an approved syllabus while contributing to the college’s mission of workforce development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver classroom instruction on customer service, computer use, job‑search strategies, interview skills, and re‑entry preparation.
• Maintain accurate grade books, testing records, and other required documentation.
• Evaluate student progress against course objectives and provide feedback.
• Complete all required reports, invoices, and inventory records in a timely manner.
• Attend mandatory professional‑development training and stay current with industry practices.
• Adhere to Technical College System of Georgia policies, accreditation standards, and Georgia Department of Corrections regulations.
• Travel to the college campus, other correctional facilities, or site locations as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in education, business, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• At least one year of post‑secondary teaching experience or one year of customer‑service experience.
• Ability to work the rotating shift of 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday, with occasional additional hours.
• Willingness to work in a correctional environment and comply with all security protocols.
• Submission of official transcripts confirming degree completion.
