Adjunct Barber Instructor (Part‑Time)

About the role

Atlanta Technical College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach barbering courses on a part‑time basis. You will join the Business and Public Service Technologies Division and work on the Main Campus, just south of downtown Atlanta, delivering hands‑on training to aspiring barbers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed lesson plans and curricula for barbering courses.
• Instruct students in haircutting, styling, shaving, and proper use and maintenance of barbering tools.
• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and prepare them for state licensure exams.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom environment and supervise practical exams.
• Stay current with industry trends and update training materials as needed.
• Evaluate and grade student performance and provide mentorship.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Georgia Cosmetology Instructor License.
• Three to five years of professional barbering experience.
• Ability to develop lesson outlines, present material, and assess adult learners.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Barbering techniques including haircutting, styling, and shaving.
• Maintenance and safe operation of barbering tools and equipment.
• Lesson planning and curriculum development for vocational training.
• Student assessment, grading, and preparation for state licensure exams.
