Actuarial Manager / Senior Manager, P&C Practice

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Property and Casualty Consulting Practice advises (re)insurance companies, large corporations, captives and state regulators on risk and loss exposure, from strategy and risk management to economic capital modeling and new products. As a Manager or Senior Manager in the P&C Actuarial Practice, you will work closely with consultants and analysts to solve complex client problems, with significant interaction across diverse client portfolios. The role can involve AI alongside traditional pricing, reserving and capital modeling projects.

Key responsibilities

• Work on projects such as reserving, pricing/ratemaking, predictive modeling, economic capital modeling, and warranty and loyalty rewards programs
• Oversee new and existing projects with minimal principal involvement, acting as main project contact and managing client communications
• Review analysts' work for technical accuracy and integrity
• Prepare exhibits and written reports for clients and take part in client meetings
• Support business development, proposals and presentations, and collaborate with clients and senior stakeholders
• Work with engineering teams to turn actuarial specifications into technical requirements and validate outcomes
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal best practices, validating data, model outputs and assumptions
• Improve tools, processes and methodologies, and support the training and mentoring of analysts

Required profile

• BA/BS degree
• 5+ years of actuarial experience
• ACAS or FCAS credential
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and reporting
• Preferred: experience using AI for modeling and analytics
• Preferred: knowledge of Python, R or SQL

What we offer

• Base salary range of $85,000 - $230,000, depending on experience, skills, location and certifications
