About the role
Oliver Wyman's US Property and Casualty Actuarial Consulting Practice is hiring an Actuarial Manager / Senior Manager who is a domain specialist with deep expertise in pricing, reserving or capital modeling. Key responsibilities

- Validate, challenge and sign off deterministic and stochastic model outputs and assumptions, with proper documentation and audit trails for committee and regulatory review.
- Perform and oversee complex actuarial analyses meeting actuarial standards of practice, and prepare thorough documentation.
- Lead internal client projects and review changes made by project teams so deliverables meet business objectives.
- Communicate actuarial findings and recommendations to finance, risk and senior management.
- Work with actuarial developers: translate judgment into model requirements, review changes and verify implementations through independent testing and reconciliation.
- Prepare executive-level reports and present to Reserve Committees and CFO/Chief Actuary level stakeholders, and mentor junior actuaries.
Required profile
- Fellowship in a recognized actuarial body (e.g. FCAS/FIA) or equivalent senior actuarial qualification.
- Substantial hands-on experience in reserving, pricing and/or capital and regulatory modeling within P&C insurance or reinsurance, working independently for multiple years.
- Experience preparing actuarial reports or papers and engaging with senior stakeholders and auditors.
- Proven ability to challenge model development teams constructively and turn judgment into testable, auditable requirements.
Required skills
- Strong technical skills with actuarial tools and languages; Python, VBA, SQL or R is advantageous.
- Preferred: track record of innovation or efficiency projects, mentoring experience and cross-departmental collaboration.
What we offer
- Base salary range of $125k-$200k, with possible performance-based incentives.
- Health and welfare benefits, tuition assistance, 401K and other retirement programs, and employee assistance programs.
