Actuarial Intern - Property & Casualty (Summer 2027)

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Actuarial Practice offers a summer internship for a Property & Casualty (P&C) actuarial intern. The P&C practice advises insurers, corporations, captive insurers, healthcare systems and regulators on risk financing, reserving, pricing and financial forecasting. The internship is based in New York and pays an hourly rate of $1,350-$1,600 USD.

Key responsibilities

• Support actuarial analyses on reserving, pricing, loss forecasting and risk financing programs
• Compile, organize and analyze data to build exhibits and summarize key findings
• Help with industry research, benchmarking studies and business intelligence initiatives
• Work with consultants and actuaries to develop client-ready analyses and deliverables
• Example projects include reserve analyses and loss forecasting for self-insured organizations and captives, cash flow projections and financial modeling, benchmarking studies, M&A due diligence and actuarial application development

Required profile

• Class of 2028 or 2029
• Pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field
• Interest in the CAS track
• Permanent, unrestricted U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available

Required skills

• Excel
• Familiarity with R, Python, SQL, SAS or VBA
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, written and verbal communication, and ability to manage multiple priorities
