Actuarial Health Manager - Valuation/Reserving

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Health Practice, a consultancy combining actuarial science, data science and information technology, is hiring a Manager in Atlanta. You will work alongside industry leaders and other consultants on a broad range of client projects, eventually interacting directly with clients such as insurance companies, healthcare systems, regulators, large employers with captive programs and private equity firms.

Key responsibilities

• Valuation and reserve development for medical and other A&H products
• Captive feasibility, funding, reserving and risk/capital management
• Merger and acquisition management and support
• Economic capital modeling and enterprise risk management
• Regulatory support, including financial examinations and reviews of mergers and acquisitions
• Support of pricing, product development, strategy and other project work across all lines of business

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or a related field
• Significant progress with actuarial exams, ASA/FSA preferred
• 5+ years of actuarial experience, preferably in health insurance or healthcare provider markets
• Exceptional organizational, project management and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork and critical thinking

Required skills

• MS Excel and MS PowerPoint required
• R, SAS, SQL, VBA or other programming languages a plus
