Actuarial Analyst / Senior Actuarial Analyst

About the role

Zurich North America is seeking an Actuarial Analyst or Senior Actuarial Analyst to join the Property Reserving team, focusing on Crop and Surety. The position will be based primarily in Schaumburg, IL, with hybrid work options.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quarterly premium and loss reserve analyses, including IFRS 17 discount and risk adjustment components.
• Prepare materials for the quarterly reserve governance committee and ensure accurate reflection of reserves in the financial close.
• Perform loss‑ratio planning and forecasting, collaborating with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Pricing to identify trends.
• Communicate reserve recommendations and financial impacts to Actuarial, Finance, and Underwriting leadership.

Required profile

• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice or a Bachelor’s degree with relevant GPA.
• Successful completion of actuarial exams (minimum one for Analyst, five for Senior Analyst) and 2‑3 years of actuarial experience, depending on level.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to present insights to non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience using statistical analysis software.
