About the role
The Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant will manage and process vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and other payables for a hospital. This role ensures payments are accurate, timely, and compliant with hospital policies and accounting standards, supporting the organization’s financial health.
Key responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices and employee reimbursements in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments while maintaining strong internal controls.
- Verify compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and hospital policies.
- Maintain accurate records of all payable transactions and reconcile accounts.
- Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities related to accounts payable.
Required profile
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (preferred).
- 2–4 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting (internship experience may be considered).
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Interest in healthcare finance and hospital operations.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of GAAP.
- Familiarity with healthcare accounting and vendor payment processes.
