Accounting Manager

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Accounting Manager to support our rapidly growing Americas region, covering the United States, Canada and LATAM. The role works closely with cross‑functional teams and external auditors to provide insights that drive business operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in daily accounting and financial operations, with a focus on revenue‑related accounting.
• Conduct new accounting analysis for product launches and accounting changes.
• Stay current with accounting standards and assess operational implications of any changes.
• Research accounting impacts in collaboration with Bytedance’s headquarters team in Beijing.
• Partner with global accounting and reporting teams to operationalize complex transaction accounting.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors to ensure timely audit completion and address audit issues.
• Work with reporting and tax teams to maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS and internal policies, and evaluate internal controls.

Required profile

• BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Active CPA certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial statement auditing, financial accounting or a similar role.
• Analytical experience, including advanced Excel usage.
• Prior experience in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) industry.
• Experience collaborating with business partners and engineers to implement changes.
• Proven ability to optimize or redesign existing processes.
• Working proficiency in Mandarin and English.
