Accounting Manager – Houston, TX

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team in Houston, Texas. The role oversees full‑cycle revenue analysis, general ledger processes, and month‑end close activities while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering high performance and accountability.
• Oversee full‑cycle revenue analysis, GL processes, journal entries, account reconciliations and accruals.
• Manage month‑end close, including revenue, cost variance and trend analyses, and publish financial statements.
• Coordinate with senior accountants, supervisors and directors to streamline and standardize financial reviews.
• Review and complete monthly GL reconciliations for inventory, prepaid, receivables, payables, trust deposits, liabilities and cash.
• Collaborate with field personnel and corporate departments to resolve accounting issues.
• Prepare PBC requests for internal and external auditors and assist with audit analytics.
• Maintain and update internal controls, ensuring compliance across assigned tasks.
• Manage hiring, staff evaluations and drive process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA required.
• Proven management experience in accounting functions.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and time‑management skills.
• Detail‑oriented with ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including data mining and analysis.
• Experience with ERP or accounting & reporting software (e.g., OneStream, Oracle).
• Strong General Ledger management, journal entry creation and approval.
• Financial statement preparation and month‑end close processes.
