Accounting Intern

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Accounting Intern to join our finance team in Reno on a part‑time basis (15‑25 hours per week) for up to six months. This role offers hands‑on exposure to the day‑to‑day operations of a privately‑held digital marketing agency and a chance to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate data entry, maintain digital and paper files, and organize accounting documents.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoice processing.
• Support month‑end closing activities and basic financial reporting.
• Scan incoming mail, record client receipts, and make bank deposits.
• Help draft and update standard operating procedures related to accounting and operations.
• Provide administrative support such as handling emails, scheduling meetings, and managing office supplies.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Previous office experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with at least one accounting software package.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to double‑check work.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
