Accounting Assistant

About the role

Share Food Program, a leading nonprofit food bank in Greater Philadelphia, seeks a detail‑oriented Accounting Assistant to support its mission of fighting food insecurity. The role focuses on accounts payable processing, deposit recording, and monthly reconciliations to keep vendors paid and finances accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Enter, code, and route vendor invoices in Bill.com, matching them to purchase orders and grant codes.
• Prepare and schedule weekly payment runs, maintain vendor records, and respond to invoice inquiries.
• Record incoming receipts (checks, ACH, wires, online donations) in NetSuite and apply payments to the correct accounts.
• Reconcile all bank and credit‑card statements monthly, investigating discrepancies promptly.

Required profile

• Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of AP, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience.
• Hands‑on experience with Bill.com or similar AP automation platform.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and double‑entry bookkeeping.
