Accounting Analyst – UHealth Finance

About the role

The UHealth Finance Department at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Accounting Analyst. In this role you will support periodic financial reporting, conduct analysis, and assist with audit documentation to enable strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and enter month‑end journal entries.
• Extract and analyze financial data, reviewing account variances.
• Perform monthly general ledger and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reporting deliverables.
• Generate management reports and documentation for external auditors.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses across projects and functional areas.
• Develop and maintain advanced Excel spreadsheets for various applications.
• Document policies and procedures to meet accounting standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Experience with month‑end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Experience in a healthcare, academic medical center, or not‑for‑profit environment is a plus.
• Demonstrated learning agility and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
