Accountant – Polyurethanes Division

About the role

Rubicon is looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to support its Polyurethanes Division in Geismar. The role will report to the Sr. Accountant/Accounting Manager and will be integral to financial reporting, cost accounting, and indirect cost analysis in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and maintain general‑ledger accounts.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and support the month‑end close process.
• Assist with audits, internal controls, and documentation for auditor queries.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to track indirect costs and produce cost‑variance analyses.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Support inventory accounting and cost analysis for chemical production.
• Participate in special projects and ad‑hoc financial analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (completed before start date).
• 2+ years of full‑time experience in public or corporate accounting.
• CPA certification or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently or in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Power BI.
