Accountant

About the role

Wilks Development, LLC is seeking a motivated Accountant to support the financial operations of multiple real‑estate entities. Reporting to the Controller, you will ensure accurate reporting, maintain internal controls, and contribute to the month‑end close process.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts with correct cost and account coding.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and subsidiary investments.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Post deposits and cash transactions promptly.
• Track and report job costs, purchase orders, and change orders across projects.
• Monitor and update project budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare month‑end journal entries, including payroll, interest, expense, and revenue accruals.
• Maintain fixed‑asset schedules and process monthly depreciation.
• Support preparation of monthly financial statements and internal reports.
• Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with controls and policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles.
• Commercial real‑estate experience preferred.
• Ability to work at a desk for prolonged periods and lift up to 15 lb.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
