Accountant III/IV – Finance Team

About the role

The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) is seeking an Accountant to join its Budget and Finance team. The position will perform professional accounting functions for the Skyline rail transit program, supporting both day‑to‑day operations and longer‑term fiscal initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Execute complex accounting work for a major public infrastructure fiscal program.
• Prepare, review, and reconcile financial records in accordance with standard accounting practices and HART policies.
• Assist with budgeting, reporting, and audit preparation across multiple project phases.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support internal and external financial audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Two years of professional accounting experience for Grade III or three years for Grade IV.
• Ability to meet health and physical standards required for the role.
• No specific professional license required.
