Accountant I – Accounts Payable

About the role

Six Flags is looking for an Accountant I – Accounts Payable to join its Shared Accounting Services team. In this fast‑paced, high‑volume environment you will process vendor invoices, expense reports and purchase card transactions for locations across the United States and Canada, ensuring timely payments that meet vendor and company terms.

Key responsibilities

• Process multi‑company accounts payable records using automated software.
• Review electronic invoices for correct vendor information and route non‑PO invoices for approval.
• Validate invoices, expense reports and purchase card transactions for accurate general‑ledger coding.
• Verify invoice accuracy against purchase orders and receiving documents.
• Assist with sales and use tax application and support internal/external audits.
• Calculate, post and manage vendor account balances and reconcile vendor statements.
• Research and resolve vendor or associate issues, and coach colleagues on AP matters.
• Prioritize tasks, meet defined deadlines, and adapt schedule for occasional overtime or weekend work.
