Accountant I – Accounts Payable

About the role

Six Flags is looking for an Accountant I – Accounts Payable to join a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment. You will use automated software to process vendor invoices, check requests, expense reports, and purchase‑card transactions for locations across the United States and Canada, ensuring timely disbursements in line with payment terms.

Key responsibilities

• Process multi‑company accounts payable records and review electronic invoices using OCR software.
• Route invoices for approval and verify accurate general‑ledger coding.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts, applying correct sales and use tax.
• Assist in weekly Check/ACH/Wire payment runs and support internal/external audits.
• Maintain electronic imaging records, reconcile vendor statements, and resolve vendor issues.
• Coach team members on AP procedures and occasionally work adjusted schedules to meet deadlines.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of combined accounts payable or clerical accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting practices and AP principles.
• Experience with ERP systems and automated AP platforms such as Hyland.
• General sales and use tax knowledge.
