Accountant – Financial Reporting & Cost Analysis

About the role

Rubicon is looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to join its accounting team in Geismar, Louisiana. You will work in a dynamic chemical manufacturing environment, supporting financial reporting, cost accounting, and indirect cost analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and maintain general‑ledger accounts.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Support the month‑end close process and assist with audits.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
• Prepare cost‑variance analyses and management reports.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and inventory cost analysis.
• Assist with special projects and ad‑hoc analysis as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 2+ years of full‑time professional experience in public or corporate accounting.
• CPA certification or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam.
• Unrestricted right to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Power BI.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
