Account Manager HI&I

About the role

Brenntag is looking for an Account Manager HI&I in Chattanooga. Account Managers manage sales in their assigned territory, using frequent face-to-face and telephone contact in a consultative approach to meet customer needs, and act on opportunities that offer the best potential and gross profit with existing customers and new leads.

Key responsibilities

• Customer business development (70%): meet sales objectives, retain customers and improve satisfaction, including through digital channels
• Identify cross- and range-selling opportunities with existing customers and set growth strategies and targets with the Sales Manager
• Visit customers regularly, prepare meetings, negotiate and close proposals, and handle spot business and rush offers
• Act as main commercial contact for customers, run market studies on new products and use Brenntag Connect to generate sales
• New customer generation (10%): identify and nurture prospects, work with Product Management on sales projects and on new Brenntag Essentials opportunities
• Sales and general admin (15%): set prices within value-based guidelines, keep business cases documented in the local CRM, update opportunity pipelines, complete sales and revenue reporting and provide demand forecasts to Product Management
• Know-how management (5% to be defined): keep product knowledge up to date, follow product portfolio changes and feedstock and upstream developments affecting prices

Required profile

• Post-secondary education with a focus in Business, Science or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the chemical distribution business
