Account Manager - Construction Sales Engineer

About the role

ABB is hiring a Construction Sales Engineer (Account Manager) for its Electrification Smart Buildings division in the United States. The role covers sales of ABB's electrification products in the Columbus, Ohio area and surrounding regions, reporting to the Sales Manager. It is a remote position, with successful candidates based in the Columbus, Ohio trade area.

Key responsibilities

• Sell products, systems and services to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability targets for assigned divisions.
• Build and maintain customer relationships, understand customer needs and present complete product and service offerings as solutions.
• Create value for the customer and ABB and ensure successful outcomes for transactions, contracts and proposals.
• Communicate delivery times, payment terms and general terms and conditions in line with ABB's offering and strategy.
• Prepare offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department and/or the Marketing Manager, ensuring technical and financial aspects such as prices and trading conditions are correct.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or a related field strongly preferred, with at least 5 years of sales experience in large commercial construction and industrial projects, preferably in the electrical products industry.
• Experience working with electrical contractors and channel partners is required.
• In-depth knowledge of the region's electrical industry and ABB products is desired.
• Understanding of the full portfolio of products and services, including power distribution one-line and installation products, is preferred.

Required skills

• Ability to use analytical software and sales tools; Salesforce.com experience preferred.
• Ability to apply Six Sigma to improve customer satisfaction; Six Sigma or equivalent quality training is a plus.
