Accident Reconstruction Engineer

About the role

EFI Global, a full-service engineering, fire investigation, environmental, health and safety and specialty consulting firm, is hiring an Accident Reconstruction professional. The role investigates accident sites, vehicles and equipment, documents evidence, determines damage and provides expert opinions for insurers and litigation support. The position is listed as telecommuting in Maryland.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate vehicles, equipment and accident sites to document evidence and determine the scope of damage.
• Assess damages caused by failures and determine the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
• Research, evaluate, analyze and test the causation of accidents and failures.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to produce detailed reports on the cause of the accident.
• Serve as an expert witness in court and/or depositions.
• Document and maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and engineering projects.
• Work with EFI's national team of forensic experts on projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
• Six years of experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Ability to work independently or in a team, meet performance competencies and meet deadlines.
• Physical requirements include standing or walking for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds and carrying up to 100 pounds, and working outdoors in hot or cold weather.

• Starting pay range of $120,000-$140,000 for the stated jurisdiction.
