Access Coordinator III – Healthcare Operations

About the role

The Access Coordinator III supports the UAMS Health Benton/Bryant facilities by managing patient access processes, ensuring smooth scheduling, and maintaining accurate registration information. This full‑time position works closely with clinical teams to deliver efficient, patient‑focused services.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate patient appointments, admissions, and transfers across multiple departments.
• Verify insurance eligibility, obtain authorizations, and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Maintain and update electronic health record (EHR) and registration systems with accurate patient data.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and ancillary services to address access‑related inquiries.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory and institutional policies related to patient access.
• Generate reports on access metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in health administration or related field preferred.
• Several years of experience in a healthcare access or registration role.
• Strong knowledge of insurance verification and authorization processes.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
