Access Coordinator II – Patient Registration

About the role

Join the Family Medical Center in Batesville as an Access Coordinator II, providing essential support to patients throughout registration and appointment processes. Under supervision, you will manage patient resources, ensure accurate data collection, and facilitate smooth clinic operations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary patient resource for all registration activities, maintaining comprehensive demographic, insurance, eligibility, and pharmacy information.
• Collect copays, coinsurance, and statement payments, and reconcile the change fund.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments using hospital systems, conduct pre‑registration, and process walk‑ins.
• Verify insurance eligibility, explain benefits, request and file outside medical records, and maintain patient charts.
• Maintain a clean waiting area, manage supplies, and handle mail and equipment upkeep.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED with at least two years of customer service or healthcare experience.
• Strong communication and telephone etiquette skills, with the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work under supervision and support Access Coordinator I duties as needed.

Required skills

• Experience with EPIC Systems.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Understanding of healthcare insurance eligibility and verification.
• Spanish language proficiency (interpreter level) is preferred.
