Access Coordinator II – Patient Access

About the role

The Access Coordinator II supports patient access operations for the Southwest Texas (Texarkana) campus of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The role ensures smooth registration, scheduling, and insurance verification for patients while providing excellent service to both patients and clinical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate patient registration and appointment scheduling across multiple departments.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health system.
• Communicate with patients, families, and clinical teams to resolve access issues.
• Assist with reporting and data entry related to patient flow and access metrics.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in health administration is preferred.
• Prior experience in a medical or patient access setting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
