Academic Coach for Accelerated Nursing Program

About the role

The School of Nursing at Northeastern University seeks a full‑time Academic Coach to provide individualized and group tutoring for students in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. The coach will help students master complex nursing concepts, develop clinical reasoning, and succeed on examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one and small‑group tutoring sessions across all nursing courses, focusing on fundamentals, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and clinical applications.
• Assess student learning needs, monitor progress, and maintain detailed tutoring records.
• Create supplemental learning materials such as study guides, practice questions, and concept maps.
• Collaborate with ABSN faculty to align tutoring services with curriculum and participate in program improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Current, active RN license in the United States.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an ACEN or CCNE‑accredited program.
• Minimum five years of acute‑care or specialty clinical nursing experience.
• Experience working with adult learners and diverse student populations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with learning management systems and educational technology platforms.
• Ability to explain complex nursing concepts clearly and develop individualized study plans.
