Academic Advisor – Student Success

About the role

The Academic Advisor provides comprehensive academic and career guidance to current, new, and transfer students at University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College. This role supports students in defining their educational goals, selecting appropriate programs, and navigating their path to degree completion.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver academic and career advising to a diverse student caseload throughout the academic year.
• Participate in New Student Orientation activities, assisting students with registration and initial course planning.
• Offer holistic advising services, including program selection, degree mapping, and progress review.
• Assist undecided students in identifying suitable programs of study and creating actionable plans for graduation.
• Connect students with campus resources and refer them to additional support services as needed.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of academic policies, degree requirements, and transfer processes.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly to students.
• Ability to build rapport with a diverse student population and support their decision‑making.
• Commitment to student success and continuous improvement of advising practices.
