Wetland Scientist

About the role

Parsons is expanding its environmental portfolio and seeks a Wetland Scientist to lead wetland delineations and water investigations across Indiana projects. You will work with a collaborative team to ensure regulatory compliance and deliver high‑quality reports.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct wetland delineations and comprehensive waters investigations.
• Prepare Waters of the U.S. and state reports, and obtain required permits from federal, state, and local agencies.
• Research and screen alternative project approaches to minimize environmental impacts.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders on project‑related environmental issues.
• Serve as a recognized expert, providing advice on regulatory compliance and performing additional duties as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, ecology, or a related field.
• Five or more years of directly related experience, preferably with Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) projects.
• Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification preferred.
• Knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) preferred.
• Proficiency with PC and standard environmental software packages.
