Weekend Maintenance Electrician

About the role

If you are passionate about maintenance and troubleshooting in a fast‑paced, high‑speed manufacturing environment, this weekend‑only position could be your next career step. You will work three weekends per month on varying shifts (10 pm‑6 am, 6 am‑2 pm, 2 pm‑10 pm) supporting plant equipment and power distribution.

Key responsibilities

• Complete work orders and provide maintenance support on high‑speed production lines.
• Assist with process improvement, change initiatives, and effective work planning.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC‑controlled equipment, variable‑speed drives, and batch processes.
• Maintain power distribution, interpret schematics, and adhere to safety and 5S standards.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance using SAP to document all activities.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; knowledge of safety policies (LOTO, high‑voltage).
• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends (60% of weekend shifts), and overtime as needed.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lb in diverse temperature conditions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to identify root causes and implement remedies.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen Bradley PLC5, ControlLogix, Siemens).
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
• Experience with VFDs, servo drives, and high‑speed motor control.
• Use of SAP for maintenance tracking.
• Lockout/Tagout procedures and high‑voltage electrical work.
• Computer networking basics (routers, Ethernet switches).
• Calibration and maintenance of process instrumentation.
• Mechanical tasks such as valve replacement, conveyor bearing, and motor/gearbox servicing.
