Weapons Specialist – Small Arms Maintenance

About the role

The Weapons Specialist serves as the subject‑matter expert for small‑arms maintenance and repair, supporting Special Forces training, readiness, and operational capability. This position requires hands‑on technical work, safety oversight, and training of junior personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, overhaul, and repair of US and foreign small arms, including pistols, rifles, shotguns, and machine guns.
• Diagnose mechanical deficiencies, disassemble and reassemble weapons, and apply gauges, jigs, and finishing agents to ensure proper function.
• Test‑fire repaired weapons, maintain laser and night‑vision devices, manage ammo inventory, and record weapons safety certifications.
• Train less‑experienced personnel in repair techniques and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with a valid SECRET security clearance and a favorable background check.
• Former 18B Special Forces Weapons Sergeant, 91F Small Arms Repairer, or equivalent civilian gunsmith certification.
• Medical clearance, ability to lift 50 lb, and ability to work in extreme environmental conditions.
• Fluent English communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
