Water Systems Supervisor

About the role

The City of Fort Worth Water Department seeks a Water Systems Supervisor to lead and coordinate maintenance activities across its water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring reliable operation of critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day‑to‑day operations, assign work orders and conduct performance evaluations.
• Inspect, maintain and repair potable water distribution, wastewater collection, raw water and reclaimed systems, including diesel/tri‑fuel engines and electrical distribution equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with other divisions, outside agencies and prepare staff reports.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED and at least five years of experience in equipment repair, service and maintenance.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and ability to pass drug screening and physical examination.
• Supervisory experience and familiarity with water/wastewater plant environments preferred.

Required skills

• Experience with computer‑based work order systems such as Maximo.
• Knowledge of diesel or tri‑fuel engine operation and electrical distribution systems.
• Understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and related certifications.
