Warehouse & Transportation Manager

About the role

This position leads the end‑to‑end US warehouse and transportation function for a global manufacturer. Reporting to the Head of Operations and joining the Site Leadership Team, you will own high‑value national shipments, ensuring safety, accuracy, timeliness and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse operations including receiving, inspection, put‑away, storage, picking, packing and dispatch.
• Set operating standards and coach the team to improve pick accuracy, productivity and right‑first‑time performance.
• Optimize warehouse layout, slotting and workflows to reduce travel time and handling delays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through transaction control, cycle counting, stock audits and reconciliation.
• Investigate discrepancies, lead root‑cause corrective actions and reduce shrinkage.
• Plan and manage US inbound and outbound transportation, including route, multi‑stop and network planning.
• Optimize transportation cost via load consolidation, carrier selection and performance management.
• Manage carrier and third‑party logistics relationships to meet service, safety and compliance standards.
• Monitor on‑time‑in‑full delivery and respond quickly to service failures.
• Ensure a safe, organized and audit‑ready operation through risk reviews and incident investigations.
• Build, motivate and develop a high‑performing team with clear roles and accountability.
• Run operations through TMS/WMS and shipping platforms, providing reliable KPI reporting.

Required profile

• Hands‑on manager comfortable both on the dock and in front of a KPI dashboard.
• Proven ability to shape teams, embed systems and raise operations to global standards.
• Strong leadership with a focus on safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
• Experience in managing high‑value national shipments and coordinating transportation.
