VP – Export & Agency Finance (LatAm Focus)

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking a Vice President to lead its Export & Agency Finance (EAF) team in the United States with a primary focus on Latin America and Multilateral Agencies. The role offers exposure to complex cross‑border transactions and the chance to shape financing solutions for sovereign, corporate and multilateral clients.

Key responsibilities

• Support origination, structuring and execution of EAF transactions, especially Latin America‑focused and MLA‑backed financings (e.g., IDB, IFC, CAF).
• Build and maintain relationships with borrowers, exporters, sovereign entities, financial institutions, ECAs and multilateral agencies.
• Identify financing opportunities and develop tailored solutions, preparing presentations, term sheets and credit materials.
• Construct and maintain financial models, cash‑flow analyses and profitability metrics.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Coverage, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Markets, Syndication) across multiple geographies.
• Lead credit approval processes, due diligence, transaction documentation and execution from mandate to financial close.
• Monitor portfolio performance and stay informed on market, geopolitical and regulatory developments affecting the region.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in structured finance, export & agency finance, project finance, infrastructure or development finance.
• Proven ability to manage end‑to‑end transaction cycles and work with multinational teams.
