VP Corporate Controller – Greater Tampa Bay

About the role

This builder‑type position reports to the CFO of a private‑equity‑backed manufacturing organization in the Greater Tampa Bay area. The VP Corporate Controller will lead a large, complex accounting function, modernise processes, strengthen controls and create a data‑driven accounting culture to support rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full record‑to‑report cycle, including multi‑entity consolidation, intercompany accounting, financial statement preparation and external audit coordination.
• Design, implement and monitor SOX compliance and internal control frameworks.
• Drive process‑improvement and automation initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• Develop and lead a multi‑functional accounting team of 25+ professionals.
• Provide CFO advisory on financial health, strategy and organisational effectiveness.

Required profile

• Proven VP or Corporate Controller experience in a private‑equity‑backed environment.
• Manufacturing industry background within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong US GAAP technical knowledge and SOX credentials.
• Track record of leading large accounting teams and delivering process‑improvement at scale.
• Experience with multi‑entity financial consolidation and reporting.
• Hands‑on executor with strategic thinking ability.
• Willingness to work fully onsite (five days per week); relocation assistance available.
