About the role

The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor of Physics to join its faculty on a non‑tenure‑track basis. This full‑time, day‑shift position involves teaching undergraduate physics courses and supporting student learning in a dynamic, diverse campus environment.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate physics lecture and laboratory courses, including introductory and intermediate levels.
• Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Advise and mentor students on academic and career matters.
• Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and service activities.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience teaching physics at the college level.

Required skills
