Vice President, Software Engineering

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Vice President of Software Engineering to own the Developer Workbench, a strategic platform that delivers a unified, AI‑enabled, end‑to‑end software engineering experience across the enterprise. This senior leader will transform a collection of disconnected tools into a productized developer experience that boosts productivity, speeds onboarding, and strengthens governance.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the engineering strategy for the Developer Workbench.
• Establish technical architecture, operating model, and roadmap for a unified developer platform.
• Integrate developer tooling, AI‑assisted coding, cloud and local development environments, testing workflows, and deployment pipelines into a seamless experience.
• Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, reliable, measurable, and aligned with enterprise engineering standards.
• Create a friction‑less developer journey from onboarding through coding, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with product teams to embed capabilities across the MSBX product suite and other engineering platforms.
• Lead adoption of AI‑assisted software engineering tools and define governance, security, and measurement models for AI coding assistants.

Required profile

• Senior engineering leader capable of building, integrating, and driving enterprise change.
• Experience operating across product, engineering, architecture, security, finance, learning, and senior technology leadership.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organization.
