Vice President of Finance

About the role

We need a builder in the truest sense to architect a world‑class finance function. You’ll be the right hand to the leadership team, ensuring capital, discipline, and strategic insight as we scale from $10M to $100M+.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic Scaling: Lead the financial transition from early‑stage startup to scaled enterprise, handling bookings, backlog, revenue forecasting, and cap‑table management.
• Operational Excellence: Build and oversee the full accounting function (AP/AR, payroll, tax, audit) to keep books “Big Four” ready while retaining startup agility.
• Capital Allocation: Manage burn, optimize runway, and partner with the CEO on fundraising and investor relations.
• AI‑Driven Finance: Implement cutting‑edge AI tools to automate internal workflows, making finance a model of efficiency.
• Cross‑Functional Partnership: Align product milestones with financial targets and go‑to‑market strategies alongside Engineering and Sales.

Required profile

• Startup Veteran with a proven track record scaling companies beyond the $10M mark.
• Scrappy & driven, thriving in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments.
• Big picture thinker who also builds detailed operational foundations.
• Technically‑minded with genuine interest or experience in AI and deep‑tech.
• Accounting expert (CPA or equivalent) who understands the “why” behind the numbers.
• Team‑first, low‑ego, high‑output collaborator committed to the mission.

Required skills

• 10+ years progressive finance experience, including 3+ years in high‑growth startup leadership.
• Deep expertise in core financial metrics, KPIs, and hardware/edge‑related business models.
• Strong proficiency with modern finance stacks such as NetSuite, Rippling, Ramp, and Mosaic.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for the board and team.
• Ability to drive strategic financial planning and operational execution.
