Vice President of Development

About the role

A client of Kimmel & Associates, a nationally recognized leader in senior living real estate development, is hiring a Vice President of Development in Dallas, TX. The role provides leadership and oversight of senior living real estate development projects, from initial concept through design, entitlements, construction and final delivery. It suits a strategic, relationship-driven leader who manages complex projects and coordinates multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development and execution of senior living communities and Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) from concept through completion.
• Oversee budgets, schedules, design development and construction coordination.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, investment partners, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Work with architects, engineers, construction teams and municipal officials to meet project requirements.
• Monitor project performance, identify risks and implement strategies to keep schedules, costs and quality on track.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams so development, design, construction, marketing and operations stay aligned.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in real estate development, preferably leading complex projects or portfolios.
• Background in CCRC, senior living, multifamily, hospitality or a comparable sector.
• Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Architecture, Urban Planning or a related field.
• Proven leadership, project management and financial oversight skills.
